SKYDIVE CANCUN is the Riviera Maya’s home of intense skydiving and parachuting adventures all in the heart of Playa del Carmen.

The parachutes used at Skydive Playa are ram-air canopies and are rectangular in shape. They actually glide through the air like an airplane wing, allowing even the novice jumper to make a soft, stand-up landing. But don’t think you’ll be flying alone. The staff at Skydive Playa is fully trained and licensed by the United States Parachute Association (USPA).

Each of your jumpmasters has years of experience and is dedicated not only to training but also to skydiving demonstration and competition. The staff at Skydive Playa holds a National Championship Recognition. They’ll train you for the jump and then accompany you on a flight over Playa del Carmen.

TANDEM
This is one of the most popular skydiving programs. This jump includes a 45 second freefall, and an 8 minute canopy ride while you’re actually attached to your jumpmaster. This is a unique way to experience your first skydive.

TRAINING: For a Tandem jump is only about 20 minutes.

JUMPING: While attached to your jumpmaster, you will exit the plane from 10,000 feet. After a 45 second freefall, you and your instructor will be suspended in a dual harness below an oversized ram-air canopy.

While under canopy, the instructor will assist you in guiding the canopy to a soft, on-target landing.

The 37th Ryder Cup at Valhalla Golf Club 2008

Day 1: Americans stun Europe, up by three points.

The European Team and The American Team are here to win The Ryder Cup and is that determination; that when you’re down, you never give in. You just play as hard as you can until you run out of holes, simple as that. And America did a great job today.

The Americans were loaded with “for the first time sinces” after Friday’s opening day of the 37th Ryder Cup, which, shockingly, ended with the underdogs leading their rivals 5 1/2-2 1/2. But as our T.J. Auclair writes, when you haven’t done a whole lot in this biennial grudge match since, well, since a long time, there are a lot of firsts waiting out there to hang your collective hats on.

Interestingly, if Europe is going to make inroads toward another victory, it will be doing so Saturday morning without Westwood, Sergio Garcia and Paul Casey, arguably three of the four best players (along with Harrington, the reigning British Open and PGA champion) — in the foursomes lineup. European Captain Nick Faldo said he was looking for “fresh legs” for the alternate-shot format.

By Sunday we will know who is the winner of The 37th Ryder Cup 2008. The origin of the idea of The Ryder Cup is to stage international matches between the best American professionals and those of Great Britain.
