BENEFITS OF INVESTMENT IN MEXICO - AMBASSADOR JAMES R. JONES - MANNAT JONES GLOBAL ESTRATEGIES - WORLD AFFAIRS COUNCIL OF CONNECTICUT (WACCT) - MEXICO LAND INVESTMENTS - Original by My Cancun TV.com

World Affairs Council of Connecticut
Hartford, CT 2008

Based on political and economic conditions, Ambassador James Jones gives his opinion on why Mexico is a better country for investment than China.

A closer look at the benefits, challenges and outlook for doing business in Mexico.

Felipe Calderon has barely been Mexico’s president for six months, but local and foreign investors are impressed and are bullish about the country’s outlook.

“The country’s new, business friendly and reform-minded government has made Mexico even more desirable for business activity,” says Thurston R. Hamer, the senior client partner at the Mexico office of US-based Korn/Ferry, the world’s largest executive recruitment firm. “The administration of President Felipe Calderon is committed to push badly needed reforms to fiscal policies, labor regulations and the legal structure, among others, and has made job creation one of the major objectives of its current six-year term, which has just begun. Calderon’s reputation as a shrewd politician and negotiator, and his early success in dealing with opposition legislators has encouraged businessmen at home and abroad regarding positive projections for the future.”

For Developers & Private Equity Real Estate Hedge Funds , Mexico Has become a safe place for Investments in Resort Real Estate.

John Bruton, the Mexico-based senior managing director of Manatt Jones Global Strategies, agrees. “Mexico’s new administration is a promising one [and] seems to be emphasizing increasingly good relations between the legislative branch and the executive,” he says, alluding to Calderon’s ability to forge alliances with the opposition PRI party to pass key legislation for social security reform and future fiscal reform. “Mexico’s international prestige as a destination for investment is growing.”

U.S.-based Continental Airlines, which flies non-stop to 30 destinations in Mexico from the United States, is also bullish. “The new policies established by President Felipe Calderon are leading Mexico towards growth,” says Carlos Enrique Hernandez, the airline’s general director in Mexico.

The confidence in Calderon is resulting in record growth in foreign direct.

TIERRAS MAYAS - CHICHEN ITZA - ECO TOURS - ECO PROYECTOS - ECO MAYA - TRAVESIAS MAYAS - Produccion Original My Cancun TV.com

STEVE WILLIAMS - GOLF CADDY STEVE WILLIAMS - TIGER WOODS CADDY - CANCUN VACATION - KIWI CADDY.com - Best Caddy in the World - STEVE WILLIAMS FOUNDATION - Original presentation by My Cancun TV.com

STEVE WILLIAMS - GOLF CADDY STEVE WILLIAMS

Today Saturday August 9 2008 I had the pleasure to meet Steve Williams and his lovely wife Kirsty in Cancun Mexico, where in the middle of such a big crowd of people at the Cancun Airport they were unnoticed, they mentioned to me that they were going to stay in a secluded Resort in the Riviera Maya to spend a relaxing time together.

In my opinion I consider Steve to be the best Caddy in the World.
He has spent nine years beside the world’s greatest golfer Tiger Woods, he certainly is an influence on Tiger’s Golf Game.

ABOUT STEVE WILLIAMS

KIWI CADDY

Caddying From the age of ten I spent all my weekends caddying at my home club of Paraparaumu Beach. My days would often include 36 holes of caddying and practising until dark myself. Despite getting to as low as a two handicap by the age of thirteen I found myself enjoying caddying more than playing.

In 1976 my Father arranged for me to caddy for Australian great Peter Thomson in the New Zealand Open, which was held at Wellington Golf Club. Peter finished third and was amazed at my skill level as a Caddy despite being only thirteen years old. From that week on I knew I wanted to be a professional golf caddy. I continued to caddy for Peter when he played in New Zealand and I would travel to Australia in the school holidays to caddy in some tournaments. During my trips to Australia I would quiz as many caddies as I could to learn what the World of Professional Caddying involved.

With my savings from Caddying at Paraparaumu I headed to the European tour in 1979 and began my career as a caddy. From 1979 to 1988 I caddied on the European tour, Asian tour, Japanese tour and Australasian tour. During this time I caddied for Australian pros Mike Clayton, Terry Gale and Ian Baker-Finch. It was during this time I met Greg Norman and from 1982 I caddied for Greg in all his Australian and Asian events as well as some European events. In 1988 I moved to the United States and would work full time for Greg. Sadly this arrangement despite great success would only last midway through 1989.

Fortunately I joined Ray Floyd immediately after and would enjoy ten great years with Raymond. During the 1999 Doral Open I received a phone call from Tiger enquiring whether I would be interested in caddying for him. Whilst it was an easy decision to join Tiger it was a difficult one to leave Raymond who was like a Father to me.

As they say the rest is history.

Steve Williams Foundation

The Foundation aims to help juniors throughout New Zealand particularly those in remote areas and the smaller provinces that struggle for sponsorship

Whilst walking the fairways of the world’s best golf courses it always gives me a great feeling to look up on the leaderboards and see fellow Kiwis names up there. I would love to see more New Zealand professionals playing the tour, hopefully we can encourage more juniors to play golf and go onto be professionals.

Having been a junior golfer in New Zealand I am excited to give back to the game that has been so good to me.

The Steve Williams Foundation also supports Speedway, my other passion away from golf.
